Helping Families Navigate Sensory Needs—From School to Home

With over 30 years in pediatric occupational therapy private practice (formerly Judy Katz, OTR/L & Associates), I now focus on supporting and empowering families as they navigate school systems—including IEPs—professional interventions, and community resources.

For families raising children with unique sensory needs, understanding and working within these systems can feel like an uphill battle. My role is to help you make sense of evaluations, school recommendations, and IEP goals; prioritize what truly matters; and move forward with clarity and confidence.

I support families through:

  • Comprehensive sensory evaluations and parent interviews

  • Sensory-style consultations, with practical feedback grounded in daily life and real-world functionality

  • Personalized sensory diet creation

  • Record review, with an emphasis on identifying and prioritizing core needs

  • Consultation around IEP development, interpretation, and implementation

  • Professional intervention planning, aligned across providers and environments

  • Connections to relevant community resources

  • School consultation and collaboration, including communication with teachers and support teams

My approach is designed to meet your child where they are and support your family where it actually lives—at home, at school, and beyond.
